Lake Louise is a glacier fed lake with an intense teal color. According to one of the (chuckling) rangers working in Banff National Park, where Lake Louise is located, visitors unfamiliar with glacier meltwater ask the rangers every so often if they paint the bottom of the lake. Its vibrant color seems so unusual to them, they can't imagine it is actually real. It most certainly is, though, and on foggy days, even the fog reflects its beautiful hue.
